Committee of 100 DebateToddy Puller declined to a debate series with Jeff Frederick. Frederick challenged Puller to a debate every other week, each one in a different part of the 36th district, giving citizens in each community within the district an opportunity to compare each candidate side-by-side and in person. However, some local community groups scheduled debates on their own, making it difficult for Puller to decline to participate. The first and only of those thus far was sponsored by the Prince William Committee of 100 on September 14. The debate was moderated by former local television reporter Matt Brock.
