Former Congressman Tom Davis picks FrederickWoodbridge, Virginia (August 17, 2010) – Former Congressman Tom Davis (VA-11) issued the following statement endorsing former Delegate Jeff Frederick for the Republican nomination in the 36th State Senate race. “I strongly encourage Republicans to come out and vote for Jeff Frederick in the August 23rd Primary,” said Tom Davis. ”Republicans are three seats short of a majority in the State Senate, and we need this seat to take back control in Richmond. Jeff can win this seat because he has fought and won tough races in Northern Virginia where other Republicans lost.” “Jeff has a strong record of fiscal responsibility in the House of Delegates, and will work in the State Senate to promote jobs and economic growth, while keeping our tax dollars here in Northern Virginia,” added Davis. Jeff Frederick commented, “I’m grateful to have Tom Davis’ support in this election. He is well respected from his years of public service to Fairfax and Prince William. This seat will be one of the competitive races that determines control of the State Senate, and is crucial for Republicans to win in November.” Much of Virginia’s 11th Congressional District overlaps with the portions of the new 36th State Senate District in Fairfax and Prince William Counties. The Republican Primary is on Tuesday, August 23rd. The winner will face incumbent Toddy Puller in the November 8th General Election. # # # No Responses Be the first to leave a comment. |
